Photography competition

There is a photography competition at my work place - and the theme is "flowers". The catch is, each participant can submit a maximum of three photographs.

Now, I am well aware that am no great photographer, but I would still like to participate in the contest. I prefer to be honest, so I do not like to download pictures from the net [as some people are known to have done in earlier contests]. So, I browsed my hard disk, and dug out all the "fairly ok" flower photos, and then proceeded to make a selection. I managed to "shortlist" six photos, but am having a difficult time creating the "final selection" of three!

I have posted most of these on my travel blog, but all the same, the selection is here for viewing pleasure :-)

First pic is my ever fav -if I can dare to give title - would say "Touched".

And last 2 for their unusual appearance !! Your Roses are also nice - and hey Sigma - Best of Luck !

ps - Moo -lee w/ Chi -lee would be the salad with Olive tai-lee dressing...rofl...:-)

Hmmm.. quite difficult to choose from. So what is your first 3 ?

Yeah you can drop 2 & 3rd because though they are excellent beautiful pictures, they are common too !

And BTR, what is this lee business ? ROFL
I saw something on your blog the other day. Ha Ha..

Sigma, All the Best !!

Zoom the first photograph, in a bit so that you only see the petals and nothing in the background (like the left bottom corner) you should have a winner in your hands

Increase the contrast a bit, if you can do the touch up in photoshop. a bit reddish would make it look beautiful.

If possible, try to get the details (texture of the petal) it would be great...

All the best

@BTR: Thanks a lot! And that is a very apt title. If we are required to chose titles for our photos, that is the one I am definitely going to use.:-)
And that moo-lee with chi-lee .... ROFL!! nice answer !!

@Cuckoo: I agree with you - the 2nd and 3rd are common kind of pictures. So I am trying to select more unusual ones. I am considering the 1st [Dahlia - BTR's favorite ;-)], 4th [Carnation - in full size one can see fine droplets of dew on the petals], and last one [Passion Fruit flower - because I find it rather different].
And as for the "lee" business - do you want the sequence of PJ's in its entirety ?? I'll mnail it to you if I can find it in my mailbox!! Lol!

@PM: After a long time?! I had been wondering! Thank you for your suggestions. I'll crop the picture, but I do not have photoshop :-(.
You are not able to see the texture here, as I compressed the pictures for uploading - In the full size one can even see the wings of the bee, and as I told BTR, the dew drops on the carnation petals.

Hi Sigma,
I am around. I keep visiting. Sher-o-shayri is not my cup of tea, hence my reluctance to comment.

have started venting out my frustration on another blog called Gibberish news - http://gibberishnews.blogspot.com/
Do visit..

Take care, and all the best for the competition.

@PM: Heartening to know you have been around, even if in silent mode :-))
I agree - many of my recent posts have been on poetry. I guess I was over excited about my two recent acquisitions [poetry books :-)].
But I did expect you to say something on the "Price of privacy" post [probably having a better insight into the matter] :-D
Off to your new blog now :-))
